Every (good) photographer plans their shoot. Location, time of day, and what the client wants. So when I booked in Emily and James for their final belly shot pics before the birth of little Sonny, I carefully planned the location and the time of day to coincide with some beautiful late-afternoon sunlight shots... Then about 20 minutes before the shoot, the cloud came over and the wind started howling.

Due to the fact it was only 2 days before the Christmas craziness, and only a couple of weeks before Sonny (Ze Bubba) was to arrive, we decided to go ahead with the shoot. We walked around a beautiful park by Sydney Harbour, with gorgous towering moreton bay fig trees framing every shot beautifully, and letting these two beautiful, excited people spend a quiet hour together, of which seemed like the calm before the storm!

After grabbiing some lovely shots, I decided to call it a day.. the wind was picking up and it looked like we were going to be in for some wild weather. As we were walking back to the cars, a wonderfully serendipitious momnt occured... the clouds parted, and the warm sunlight wrapped around Emily and James, holding them in a loving embrace. A moment that I'll never forget, and a moment in time I hope will remain with Emily and James in the series of shots I captured for them. I look forward to capturing more moments now Sonny has arrived, and I'll be sure to keep every one up to date!
